A loan of $5,200 helped a member to buy furniture for resale.

Primavera Group's story

The nine members of the PRIMAVERA community bank will join the Alto Lima Center for a fifth round of funding with Pro Mujer. Julia is the group's president. Members have a various businesses that include: produce sales; textile production; furniture sales; insecticide sales; clothing sales; construction services; and textile sales.

Julia's furniture business is one of the microbusinesses that will benefit from the loan. Julia joined the group a year ago after a friend who was already a member invited her to join too. Julia says that she learned to buy and sell furniture from her husband who has a similar business. She built up savings of her own and started a separate furniture sales business.

Julia will use this loan to stock her furniture business. She will buy merchandise from furniture wholesalers in La Paz and resell her inventory locally. The business generates an income that helps to support her family, including her two children.

When we asked Julia what she most likes about Pro Mujer, she told us that she likes the training she's received and the access she has to affordable credit.
