Karkyra's story

Karkyra is 31 years old and she is married with three children. She has a high school education and she raises livestock, which is the main source of income for her family. She started six years ago with the purchase of livestock for 5,000 som KGS. Thanks to her hard work, Karkyra now has two dairy cows, as well as a .2 hectare plot of land on which she grows peppers, beans and clover. Her monthly income is 11,000 som (KGS). With the goal of developing her business further, Karkyra has turned to the microfinance bank "Bai-Tushum and Partners" for a loan to buy bulls. She will buy the bulls, fatten them up for two months and on the third month she will sell them at a profit at the local market. She plans to use the income from this to further increase her head of livestock, as well as to save up money to buy some appliances for her home.
