A loan of $2,100 helped to start a store that sells fertilizers and animal feed.

Vazha's story

Vazha is from Persati, a village located in western Georgia. He is thirty-two years old and married. Vazha lives with his parents, sister, retired grandmother, wife, and two toddlers. To earn a living, Vazha operates a distribution business. Specifically, he buys various fertilizers and animal feed in bulk at the capital city market and distributes the products in his district and neighboring towns. Although Vazha works hard, his earnings are still modest and hardly enough to cover the expenses of his large family. In order to generate more funds, Vazha plans to open a store in his district that sells fertilizers and animal feed. He has already rented a commercial space and installed the shelves. Vazha's plan is to both operate a store and continue distribution. This business initiative will increase the family's income and allow them to improve their standard of living in the future.
