Sandra Johanna's story

El Grupo De Crédito Nueva Esperanza [New Hope Loan Group] meets every 15 days in the Picoaza parish of the city of Portoviejo. Portoviejo is known for being a very commercial zone, for its traditional celebrations of San Pedro and San Pablo and for the happiness of its people. Here lives the lady Sandra. She is 29 years old and in a common-law marriage from which she has two sons, ages 6 and 13, who study in elementary school and high school. Her husband is a shopkeeper. Doña Sandra is a very good wife that takes loans for her husband who is a street vendor. He sells underwear, socks, shirts and hats, among other garments. He works every day and he passes through the city streets selling his products for almost the whole day. Her husband has worked in this business for more than 6 years, helping his family get ahead. This loan will be used for her husband's purchase of underwear, shirts, pants and other garments. Doña Sandra has been in the Grupo De Crédito for 5 years and likes it because she feels useful helping her husband. Her dream is to have an establishment in which to sell merchandise.
