A loan of $2,550 helped to buy three milk cows.

Sona's story

Sona is a 47-years–old divorced woman with one child. She earns a living by breeding cows and cattle, selling their milk and milk products as well as meat to local butchers. She has had15 years of experience in this field, thanks to her father, who taught her how to look after cattle. Sona usually buys small cows, raises and fattens them for 5-6 months, and then resells them for a more profitable price to butchers. She sells milk and yogurt to neighbors. She earns about 180 AZN a month, in part because milk, yogurt, and meat are very popular products in Azerbaijan. Now she is requesting a loan of 2000 AZN to buy three milk cows. This will be her 4th loan.
