A loan of $7,975 helped a member to purchase 200 boards.

Nyota Group's story

This client, Syauswa, is a merchant and a member of the business association "Nyota". She is an energetic entrepreneur, 38 years old, and a married mother of four children, all students. This client is a vendor of lumber. She stocks her merchandise at a suburban warehouse. She started her business with assistance from her older brother. Later on, she benefited from a loan from the microfinance institution Hekima. She has been in this business for eighteen years.

This new loan is going to be used to purchase 200 boards. Thus, she would like to expand her plans, buy a parcel of land, build a house, and provide education, food, and clothing for her children.

In conclusion, she thanks Hekima very much for promoting autonomy for unbanked women entrepreneurs, especially during this critical time of post-conflict in the country's east.
