Sheyla Jimena's story

Sheyla dreams of becoming an agricultural engineer but needs a degree to make it possible. Sheyla was accepted into the Instituto Tecnológico Caranavi and now, with the chance to achieve her dream, she is concerned about her finances. She plans on graduating in December, 2014, but without a loan from Vittana, she thinks that she may need to take time off to work and save until she can return to school.

Sheyla plans on using her loan to buy her school books. Up until now she has been managing to get by without them, but it has become a challenge. With books and school supplies, she feels she will be able to get better grades. In addition to her responsibilities at school, Sheyla currently works 25 hours a week and earns $14 a day.

Sheyla hopes to be a role model for her younger sister by being the first in her family to graduate from university.
