A loan of $2,200 helped to pay for seeds and fertilizer for land cultivation and also forage for feeding the livestock.

Anush's story

Anush lives in Ranchpar village of the Ararat region. She is a farmer with five years of experience. Over these years of hard work, Anush was able to build a greenhouse where she cultivates greens and different types of vegetables. Anush also keeps a pig and ten chickens. Anush lives together with her husband and two children ages 17 and 25 years old, who help Anush with farming activities.

Anush currently asks a loan of $2,200 to be able to purchase supplies needed for her farm. Particularly she will use the loan in purchasing seeds and fertilizer for land cultivation and forage for feeding the livestock. Anush has already taken a loan from a local financial institution before, but unfortunately was not able to repay it. However, thanks to hard work during recent times, she was able to run her agribusiness in a sustainable way, ensuring that she will be able to cover the monthly payments.

So Anush has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products. The loan will be a huge support for Anush and her family and they will be very grateful to lenders for their goodwill and support.
