A loan of $1,050 helped to purchase mobile phones and accessories.

Ibrahim's story

Born in April 1987 in Sienso in the San area to a farming family, Ibrahim quickly learned how to operate a business. He is married and the father of 4 children. His shop is located along the road in San.

Ibrahim specializes in the sale of mobile telephones, both in wholesale and retail. He has been in this business for more than 6 years. He is much sought after in the open air markets of the city of San and its surroundings.

In order to diversify his business, Ibrahim decided to partner with the microfinance organization Soro Yiriwaso. He is on his sixth individual loan. He plans to purchase a large stock of mobile telephones of all brands and accessories.

Ibrahim stocks up from wholesalers in Bamako. He sells his products in San and in the open air markets to a customer base made up of men and women, for cash and for credit. He hopes to earn a monthly profit of 100,000 francs CFA which he will use to repay the loan, to pay for his children's education, to purchase food and to improve his living conditions.
