A loan of $350 helped buy fertilizer for farmland.

Albina's story

Albina is 42 years old and lives with her husband and four of her seven children. She works very hard in the fields and is always very attentive to climactic change or plagues that might be present in her fields, since her family lives off of the food they grow on their land. She has been working as a farmer for the past ten years. She grows olluco (a Peruvian variety of potato), broadbeans and potatoes, and takes them directly to local markets to sell. She also raises pigs and sells piglets. She recently bought a small parcel of land with her savings to grow coffee and raise a few animals.

Albina works as hard as she does for the future of her children; they are what motivate her each day.

Albina will use the money to buy bags of fertilizer to prepare the earth for planting, both for the crops she grows to sell and for the alfalfa she grows to feed her animals.
