La Cooperativa Group's story

The LA COOPERATIVA communal bank is made up ten members, Eight of them are women and two are men. They work in different activities. The president of the bank is Miriam. She works selling staple items in her neighborhood store. It is located in her house, which is in the Primavera area of the city of La Paz. This loan is her first cycle in the institution. Miriam is going to use this loan to buy merchandise to stock her business. Her reason for asking for this loan is that she needs to stock her business, since Christmas time is coming. She wants to buy panettones, as well. Miriam faces challenges in her business, such as competition, because there are a lot of neighborhood stores. She is going to use the profits to keep buying merchandise and thus increase her capital and be able to have a larger store, which is one of the things she wants. She feels happy and grateful for this opportunity that is being offered to her and the other members of the group, since in many cases they are getting their families ahead alone.
