A loan of $5,200 helped to purchase fixed assets (display cabinets, a mixer, kitchen utensils, an oven, a refrigerator and other items), raw materials (flour, sugar, margarine, eggs, milk and other items) and to make some improvements to her commercial space.

Paola Andrea's story

At her 26 years of age, Paola is the single mother of a 4-year old son. She works very hard to get him ahead. She makes her living working as an independent businesswoman. She sells pastries that she makes herself. Paola learned the trade from her father, who worked as a baker all of Paola's life. As a hobby and out of a love for baking, Paola took classes at a baking school. She improved her knowledge of baking and perfected her technique. Paola saw baking as a good source of income, which was in line with her plans for the future and her desire to get ahead. She started promoting her products on social media. Paola works from home making cupcakes, deserts, cakes and other advance-order items. Through this work, she generates enough income to support her household. Nevertheless, she wants to set up her business in a commercial space which she has already rented. Paola needs the help of the loan to purchase her fixed assets (display cabinets, a mixer, kitchen utensils, an oven, a refrigerator and other items), raw materials (flour, sugar, margarine, eggs, milk and other items) and to make some improvements to the space. Then she will be able to kick off her project. She hopes to get to know the market and increase her sales. Paola is an active and determined woman. She intends, in the future, to stand out in her field by strengthening her business and opening pathways to other points of sale. All this would guarantee her favorable financial stability so she could offer her son a better sense of well-being and a better quality of life.
