A loan of $550 helped to start a business selling sandals.

Jenny Rosario's story

Jenny is 29 years old. She is a single mother and has a 1 year old son who is the motor of strength that drives her forward. They live in Santo Domingo in her mother’s house who has a small seamstress shop.

Jenny works making snacks and pastries. She sell them outdoors at schools and markets and delivers them to parties and events. She has 3 years experience in her current business but now she has the dream of selling sandals in order to have more income and thus improve the quality of life for her and her little one. She needs capital for this and this is why she came to Fundación Alternative to achieve her dream.

With the loan she will be able to buy sandals to sell to customers that visit her home and to take out to sell on weekends. She is very excited and grateful to Kiva for helping her to improve her income.
