Gladys Alicia's story

Gladys is an Ecuadorian young woman that was born in the city of Latacunga, she is 31 years old, single and lives in a house she owns with her monther, who has a small disability in her arm, her house is located in the city of Latacunga, in the district San Juan de Pastocalle, a rural zone of the city that is known for raising small livestock.
Gladys doesn't have children, she built her house with much effort and sacrifice after her mother inherited a small piece of land, she is a big support to her family because she works at a plantation and also has livestock such as pigs and chickens, her mother helps her taking care of the livestock, she learned the activity from her mother. She works on this during the morning and afternoon, she thinks the most difficult part is when she rans out of feed for her animals, but this hasn't been an obstacle to keep going and be a person of success.
Her biggest dream in life is to be able to buy herself a car, this would help her a lot to cut distance, today she is requesting a loan to buy more pigs and feed, this will help her increase her income and improve her life. Gladys is grateful to Fundacion Alternativa in Ecuador and to Kiva for making her work and personal life better.
