A loan of $1,500 helped to pay for six calves.

Marieta's story

Marieta is from the village of Margahovit in the region of Lori. Together with her family, Marieta has been involved in agriculture for many years. The family owns livestock, including cows, pig, chickens and turkeys. Marietta also cultivates potato and grass, which her husband sells in the nearby open market.
Marieta and her husband are already really skilled in the farming business and farming has become a part of their lives.

Now, by applying for this loan, Marieta asks for financial support from Kiva lenders. She needs this loan to be able to purchase six calves and expand her livestock. This will enlarge her income from agriculture and Marieta and her husband will be able to improve their living conditions. Marieta lives with her son and his family (her grandson is in the photo).
