A loan of $1,100 helped to buy clothing.

Isidora Monserrate's story

The “Madre Para Un Futuro Mejor” lending group meets every two weeks in the “24 de Mayo” settlement in the Manabi province, known for its forests, variety of fauna, and for its friendly and hardworking people dedicated to farming and raising livestock.

Isidora lives here. She is 56 years old, is in a common law marriage, and has five adult children. Her husband works as a driver.

Isodora is a lady who likes to work to have her own income for the good of her family, so she rented a location in the city center and set up a small shop and it has been very satisfying. She used her earnings and a loan to start and then, thanks to some loans, she has been stocking it. She sells clothing, shoes, costume jewelry, and many other gift items and also cell phone cards and ice cream every day.

She will use the money from this loan to buy clothing, which is what she sells most of over this season. She has been with the credit group since the beginning and she likes it because she started her business with one of the loans. Her dream is to have her own shop because the rent eats up a large part of her earnings.
