A loan of $550 helped to purchase a yoke.

Leslie Jocelin's story

Leslie Jocelin, 25, lives with her husband in the District of Oyotun where the people in her town work in agriculture, commerce and livestock breeding. It’s a community known for its hospitality, and local dishes which can be found in restaurants in the area; located two hours from the city of Chiclayo, on the northern coast of Peru. She raises and sells small animals such as ducks, chickens, and turkeys and has been doing this since she got married in order to contribute to the household expenses. Her husband is a day labourer. Leslie has requested a loan of 1,500 Peruvian Nuevos Soles to purchase a yoke, to be able to rent it out for ploughing since she is close to agricultural fields, preparing the lands for planting and thus generating a greater income for her family.
