Kotognontala Group's story

Group Kotognontala is made up exclusively of married women. They are on average 34 years old with three children and live in extended traditional families in Djekonobougou village in the commune of Wacoro, Dioila prefecture, Koulikoro region (second administrative region of the republic of Mali)
They met through family, friendship and neighbourhood ties. They sell condiments, shea butter, milk, soap, fritters, cereals, tubers and prepared food.
This is the first loan for the women of the Kotognontala group.
Nah, who is the person sitting on the right, sells potatoes. She plans to buy four sacks of potatoes in the neighbouring villages which she will sell in Wacoro and locally. She hopes to make an average monthly profit of 10.000 FCFA which she will use partly for her business, and also for family expenses.
