Mt. Livingstone Group's story

Rose, who is in her early 40s, is married with two children who are still at school. She has been running several businesses -- food vendor, mixing and selling flour for making porridge and selling honey. She has been in business for 13 years now. She works from 6 am to 4 pm daily and is able to make a very good monthly profit. This will be Rose's 5th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to start making and selling porridge flour and selling honey as well. She also increased stock in the food store. She can now meet her customers' demand. She is happy with the loan and appreciates all who have supported her group because everybody can now support family demands, especially school fees and hospital expenses. Rose has managed to pay back all her loans successfully. She used the profit to pay school fees, to buy a plot of land, to start building her house and to cover household expenses. Rose will share this loan with her loan group "Mt. Livingstone" which has a total of twelve members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
