A loan of $650 helped to buy merchandise.

Hayde Eugenia's story

The “1 de Enero” credit group meets every two weeks in the Montecristi settlement, known for its rich pre-colonial culture, and its nationally and internationally known art. It’s the place of the famous straw hats.

Hayde lives here. She is 45 years old, married, and has four children. Three are adults and the youngest is three years old. Her husband is a teacher.

Hayde is also a teacher at a local school, but she is also a merchant in her spare time, so she can earn some extra money. She sells clothing of all types, and also Avon (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and ladies’ accessories). She sells on door to door although her classmates and mothers who go to the school to see their children are her best customers. She offers her products there, has been doing this for two years and things are going very well for her.

She will use the money from this loan to buy perfumes, creams, cosmetics, and seasonal clothing. She has been with the credit group for four cycles and she likes it because the loan payments are easy. Her dream is to have her own boutique.
