A loan of $6,250 helped to purchase biodigesters/biogas for resale in his community.

Charles's story

Charles is a 37-year-old Tanzanian businessman. He owns and strongly promotes a renewable energy business. Standing with him in this picture is the TAHUDE Foundation Director (in white shirt). Charles, in partnership with TAHUDE Foundation, has decided to install ten biodigesters in his local community/village. The customers are available and TAHUDE will pay Charles a commission rate of 10% for each biodigester that he installs. This initiative will increase his social status in the community, promote his renewable energy business in the rural community, and generate income through the 10% commission from TAHUDE Foundation. His initiative will reduce the community’s dependence on depleting firewood/trees and consequently halt deforestation. Also, each biodigester installed will cut down on expenditures of the families which took the wise decision of such investment.
