Al-Reem Group's story

Al-Reem is a four-member group. All of them are poor ladies from Taiz, Yemen. They applied for a 240,000 YER loan from AMB. Aftekar is a 28-year-old married woman who has a child. She is the leader of the group. She is uneducated and living in a poor area in Taiz. Her house is very old and in miserable condition. The house is vulnerable to fall down at any time. It is known that house renovation requires a lot of money. She has started renovating her house, but now she needs more money. She needs to complete the renovation, so she asked for a loan of 60,000 YER to buy cement and bricks. She hopes that after the completion of her house renovation, she can start accumulating money to improve the living conditions of her family and open a savings account
