Rehana's Group
In this Group: Rehana, Shazia
Rehana’s husband has been selling sanitary goods such as water pumps, water taps, geezers, sinks, joints, water pipes, joints, elbows and showers for many years and earning a healthy income. Rehana is 45 years of age, living along with her husband and five children in Lahore, Pakistan. She wants to provide all facilities and higher education to her children.
Earlier her husband was busy in another business of selling construction goods which proved to be a low profit generating business. He established a new business and hopes this business will prove more beneficial than the last one. He retained a list of good customers in a short time and this business is going well. He wants to make a further investment to complete the remaining inventories for his newly started business but he does not have enough money. Therefore, Rehana requested a loan so that her husband can buy the remaining stock for his sanitary shop. She thanks Kiva and field partner, BRAC Pakistan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
