Thelma Rosa's story

Thelma is 35 years old, married, and has one minor child. She's a native of the central region of the country, and is known for being hard-working, responsible, and having ambitions of self-improvement. In her free time she likes to enjoy her son's company and spend quality time. Currently she works hard to give her young son a better future. Thanks to her efforts and desire to persevere, she works as a traveling vendor of construction materials and moves about in a pickup truck through different parts of the city. She sells construction products like zinc, nails, bolts, cement, shovels, purlins, hoses, screws, and shovels. She devotes 10 hours a day to selling products for her business.

The purpose of Thelma's loan is to invest in work equipment and stock her hardware purchase and sale business, so that she can improve her income in the not-too-distant future. Thelma is grateful for the assistance Kiva lenders provide to low-income people from poor countries like Nicaragua, so that they can have a respectable line of work.
