A loan of $500 helped to cover the costs of opening a fruit and vegetable shop.

Beauty's story

Beauty is 32 years old, married, and has three children. She lives in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe. Beauty volunteers in schools as a Cama community health trainer spreading health information to school children and her community members. She is currently running a market gardening business which she started in April. One of her goals as a health trainer is to help people eat healthy foods and live healthy lives as well. The business has also allowed her to pay for school fees for two of her children and provide food for her family. She sells various types of vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, spinach, cassava, sweet potatoes, and carrots in her community.

Beauty sees a good opportunity to grow her business since there are no fruit and vegetable shops in her area. Beauty would like to use the loan to open her own vegetable shop and meet the needs of her community, and she also hopes to hire employees. This Kiva loan will give her a chance to take her enterprise to the next level.
