Alicia Del Carmen

Nicaragua
Leon, Nicaragua / Shoe Sales

A loan of $1,375 helped to invest in working capital and buy various styles of children's and adults' footwear.

Alicia Del Carmen's story

Alicia is 37 years old and a single mother to two adult children. She is originally from the central area of Nicaragua. Alicia is a hard-working woman and has a desire to do better than before. In her spare time she likes to enjoy the company of her family. Unfortunately, Alicia could not study at university and had to work from a young age in order to help pay the household bills.

Thanks to her efforts and her desire to prosper, Alicia works selling footwear for adults and children. She has been working at a local place for eight years, working ten hours per day selling her merchandise. The aim for this loan is to invest in working capital and buy various styles of children's and adults' footwear in order to take advantage of the Christmas season. Alicia is grateful to Kiva lenders for helping poor people to have a decent job and for helping poor countries such as Nicaragua.
