Maria Elsa's story

María Elsa, 42, lives with her two children and husband in the district of Zaña, a strategically located community on the Jetepeque River. The location has allowed the local people to be active in agriculture and livestock farming, and artisan pastries, among other things. It is located an hour and 45 minutes from the city of Chiclayo on the northern coast of Peru.

María Elsa sells small animals such as ducks, hens and turkeys, both at home an at market. Her husband has a donkey transport business and also sells cattle.

She has requested a loan in the amount of 2,000 PEN to buy small animals for her business. Later she will sell them for a good price and generate more income for the family.
