A loan of $1,025 helped buy cows to fatten and sell.

Mokhidil's story

Mokhidil is 37 years old, married, and raising one son with her husband. Mokhidil has a secondary education. She is a housewife, cares for the farm, and is raising a son. Mokhidil's work in animal husbandry is the main source of income for the family. She started this six years ago when she bought 25,000 KGS worth of livestock. Her husband helps her on the farm. Mokhidil has vast experience breeding cattle, and she has everything she needs to keep cattle. Mokhidil harvests the hay and feed herself. Because of Mokhidil's hard work, her farm now boasts four milk cows and two sheep. She earns a monthly income of 9,500 KGS. In order to further expand her farm, Mokhidil has approached the microfinance bank Bai-Tushum and Partners for a loan to buy cattle to fatten and resell for a profit. Mokhidil plans to invest profits she makes from the loan in increasing her livestock and repairing her family home.
