A loan of $725 helped to buy palms to build a selling space outside her shop.

Thelma's story

Thelma is 24 years old, single and lives with her daughter. Thelma owns the house where she lives - it is made with basic materials.

Six years ago Thelma started her own business selling consumable goods retail in a small store. She was motived by her mother as Thelma did not have a stable job to support her daughter. So, with the help of her ex-partner, Thelma started this work and managed to earn a little income, which allowed her to gradually build her home with basic materials. Thelma sells a variety of staple goods to her customers: she sells rice, sugar, pasta, eggs, pulses, and chilled drinks, which are very popular due to the town being in a tropical area. Thelma is lucky to have have business in a good location, as this is good for sales.

This is Thelma's first loan and she hopes to gain the same trust that many of her friends and neighbours enjoy. Thelma would like a loan of 2000 Nuevo Soles, in order to build - with palms - an area at the door to her shop where she can sell cold drinks.
