A loan of $3,150 helped a member to buy more children's games for her coffee shop.


Rahayu Group's story

After completing the first loan cycle smoothly, Rahayu Group wants to apply for another loan from Kiva. The group has grown to 17 members, each having a different business. The members are opening a coffee shop, running food stalls, producing milkfish presto ( smoked milkfish cooked in a pressure cooker) and opening a children's game business.

Group "Rahayu" is in the outskirts of the coastal tourist area of Srandil Beach. With this loan from Kiva, all members hope to raise more capital to increase the types of food they sell, add to the content of the shop with snacks for the kids, and to buy more sophisticated tools to produce more milkfish presto.

Rahayu Group is headed by a mother who is opening a coffee shop with children's games. Sumarsih (A), as the leader, has three children who are still in school. Her husband is a farmer. For Sumarsih (A), these loans are significant, especially for her family and the members of the Group Rahayu. She hopes, with this loan, she can raise capital to add to the coffee shop some kind of children's games. Sumarsih (A) also hopes that all the members can live better and be more energized again in developing their businesses.
