Andrea's story

Andrea is 22 year old, and the mother of two children, ages six and three. She is in a common law marriage and has been working in different restaurants over the past three years, cooking different foods, but decided to work on her own so she could better care for her children. She started her own business two years ago, selling fried foods outside her home, where she works from 2:00 am to 8:00 pm all week. She does this in a very artesian way, using a wood-burning stove to fry her foods, such as empanadas, corn cakes with egg, ham sandwiches, and other things, and manages to earn enough to support her family. She is asking for a loan to buy a heated display case, a gas stove, and supplies in quantity (vegetates, meat, cooking oil, sauces, soft drinks, and other things) so she can improve her working conditions and reduce the risk of working with firewood. She will also make better use of the time and be able to sell more and increase her income. Andrea, with her entrepreneurial spirit, perseverance, and motivation through love for her family says that her main goal is to grow her business so that she will have financial stability so she can guarantee that her children will have a good education and a better future.
