A loan of $350 helped invest in yuca and corn crops.

Teobaldo's story

Teobaldo is 41 years old and lives with his wife and their five young children. Since he was very young, Teobaldo has been a yuca farmer. Since getting married, he has dedicated all his time to his crop, as this is his means for covering household expenses. Teobaldo loves doing business with the folks who visit his community to buy products grown in the region -- an activity which continues to benefit Teobaldo. Nevertheless, he has encountered various challenges to raising his crop, such as the high cost of insecticide used to keep up production. Teobaldo's family keeps him going in his work. He would like to invest in growing yuca and corn, seeing the climate is favorable. Over time he plans to purchase more land to expand his production and increase profits.
