A loan of $1,400 helped to purchase cows and male goats to slaughter and sell by weight.

Chernor's story

Meet Chernor, a 43-year-old from Waterloo eastern area in Freetown. He is married with two children, aged six and four years. For the past 25 years, Chernor has been operating an animal and meat selling business. He began his business because his parents did not send him to school, so he was trained in cow rearing. He works at the business from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., seven days per week. He says that the main challenges to his business are poor electricity supply to preserve the meat and difficulty in travelling with the animals from his operational area.

Chernor requires a loan in order to purchase cows and male goats to slaughter and sell by weight. He hopes that the extra income from this will allow him to empower himself and increase his business. In the future, Chernor plans to build a big house. He thanks you for your support.
