Kebila, Mali / Cereals

A loan of $625 helped to purchase grains.

Djeneba's story

Born around 1958 in Bladie/Garalo, Djeneba now lives in Kebila in the 3rd administrative region of Mali with her husband and 10 children in a traditional Malian family. Djeneba became quickly interested in income-generating activities, most notably the purchase and resale of grains. She is much sought-after at the market in Kebila, especially on market days

With over 20 years of experience in this trade, Djeneba is collaborating with Soro Yiriwaso to increase her working capital so that she can better satisfy her constantly expanding customer base. She is on her second loan after repaying the previous loan.

Djeneba intends to use this loan to buy 10 bags of grain. She buys from producers and in and around Kebila, conducting her sales in cash and sometimes on credit to customers at the market. Djeneba hopes to make a monthly profit of 90,000 FCFA, which she will use to support her family, repay the loan and reinvest in her business.
