Shufaa's story

Shufaa is 35 years old, a female and widowed. She has five children aged 16, 14, 13, 12 and 10 years respectively, whom she supports. Shufaa was introduced to KADET Ltd by a Kadet officer, and she runs a grocery business, which has lasted for four years now.

In her business she earns a monthly income of 6,250 Kenyan shillings (KES). She is taking her first loan of 10,000 KES, which she intends to use in adding stock to her business that includes tomatoes, potatoes, vegetables and cabbages.

Shufaa will use the anticipated profit to expand her business. Her hopes and dreams for her future business and her family are to educate her children and expand her business.
