A loan of $550 helped to buy ingredients.

Wendi's story

Wendi, 64, is a widow and lives with her children in her own house. Wendi's job is selling lunch with the help of her daughter. To serve her customers she has two tables and chairs that she set up in the front part of her house. She also sells cold carbonated beverages and sweets in her own house.

She got started in both businesses more than six years ago. She likes this job because she has an income and she works in the comfort of her own home. She feels like a productive person and she has fun. She has regular customers she learned to attract over time.

Wendi wants to continue with her business and grow even more. This is her third loan with Kiva. She's very happy to know she has some financial help because this way she'll feel certain of making progress with her business. She also promises to make her payments punctually.

Wendi will invest the entire requested amount of 1,500 nuevos soles [PEN] in provisions and ingredients to make meals, including rice, oil, chicken, meat, and vegetables.
