Parveen's Group
In this Group: Parveen, Shahida, Sumera, Asma
Parveen is a 51-year-old married woman, living with her spouse and five children in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. Her husband sells fruits from a shop. He goes to the field daily to buy fresh fruits; he is very famous in the community due to the freshness of his fruit. He has been selling fruit for many years; because of this he understands the minds and demands of people.
Therefore, Parveen requested a loan so that her husband would be able to buy more fruits, especially seasonal fruit like oranges.
Parveen is representing herself as a group leader and taking the responsibility of her group members. This is the fifth loan of Parveen; she assured us that she will pay all installments on time as before, because she wants to take another loan in the future.
Parveen is very thankful to Kiva and its field partner BRAC Pakistan.

Note: Parveen raises her hand in the given picture.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
