Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Chapakazi A Group's story

Chapakazi A is a Nuru International group of five farmers in the Kuria West District in Kenya. The members joined the group to acquire skills and knowledge on improved farming methods. They are able to obtain loans through Nuru to acquire farm inputs. As a group the members collectively guarantee the loan.

Joseph is 33-years-old and a member of the Chapakazi A group of farmers. He is married with five children, four of whom attend school. The loan he is requesting from Kiva wil enable him to purchase farm inputs. From the harvest, he will obtain food for his family, sell the surplus and build a house for his family.

In this group: Monanka, Mohagachi, Magret, Joseph, John
