A loan of $600 helped a member to buy spools of threads in different colors, packs of laces, zippers, and buttons.

Shamem's Group's story

Shamem is a vigorous 45-year-old lady who is the mother of three children. She has been stitching clothes for many years. Shamem stitches clothes for the people of her community and uses the income to support her entire family. However, due to a lack of funds, she is unable to meet the daily demands of her customers. Shamem is in her fifth loan cycle with a good credit history.

Shamem is requesting a loan from the Kiva field partner BRAC Pakistan to buy more spools of thread in different colors, along with the packs of laces, zippers, and buttons. Her loan will allow her to stitch up more dresses on time and to generate a healthier income.
