A loan of $1,375 helped to pay for groceries, toiletries, beverages and other products to add to her inventory.

Alma's story

Alma is thankful for the financial assistance extended to her. Her variety store which has been running for two years is continuously growing. She also has a tricycle and a boarding house for additional income. All of her businesses benefited from the loan that she borrowed. It also was helpful in the education of her children who are in grade school and high school. Her husband is also helping her in generating income for their family.

She would like to apply for another 60,000 PHP loan to buy groceries, toiletries, beverages and other products to add to her inventory. The more items displayed at the store the better. More items to sell will result in better profit. Her profits will definitely help sustain her family’s daily needs and children’s education expenses. She looks forward to this financial increase with gladness and thankfulness in her heart.

Alma hopes that the time will come that she will no longer borrow money and dreams that her children will have a good life and education. She meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work every week, and there she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God that she studies.

* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital and repay micro-finance loans.
