Dezi's story

Dezi is married with six children and two of her children go to school. She also takes care of additional family members (grandchildren). She has a business of selling green bananas and has been in this business for 19 years.

She has applied for a loan of 2,500,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bunches of green bananas. She generates additional income from selling piped water. She works at the market seven days out of every week and sells on a retail basis only. Her major business challenges include seasonality and thieves.

She aspires to become a wholesaler and also to start going to villages for green bananas. She decided to join MCDT-=SACCO because she wanted to increase her capital base. She resides in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include paying school fees and utility bills.
