A loan of $825 helped to introduce simple, life-saving technologies such as solar lamps, water filters and clean cookstoves to his community.

Oktavianus's story

Oktavianus and his wife started a home business making snacks to sell to government officials, hospitals, and office employees. Oktavianus also runs a small shop selling everyday goods, toiletries, and children’s clothing made by his wife. To increase his income, Oktavianus has joined Kopernik’s Tech Kiosk network to sell simple life-changing technologies. He will use the loan to buy stock and grow his business. Oktavianus was impressed by the fuel efficiency of the cookstove and the fact that it does not produce harmful smoke. He also understands the lack of safe drinking water available to his community. He is looking forward to educating his customers in the cost-savings and health benefits of the technologies.
