A loan of $525 helped a member to buy fabrics for dyeing and sewing garments to sell.

Shehnaz's Group's story

Shehnaz is 43 years old and married. She lives in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is the mother of five children; one kid is too young and fully dependent upon Shehnaz.

Her husband owns a clothing business. His practice to buy fabrics from a wholesaler; dye then into multishades, sew them into garments, and sell the garments into the market. He has a lot of customers who like to buy garments from him.

Due to the new customers, the demand is increasing day by day, but he does not have sufficient amount to buy more fabrics.

Therefore, Shehnaz has requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner’s BRAC Pakistan, so that her husband can buy more fabrics to fulfill the demand.
She is in her third loan cycle and has shown an excellent repayment behavior. She has already been taking the loan from BRAC and investing in the business.
