A loan helped to purchase two cows and four steers.

Artur's story

Artur is from Lernagog village of Armavir region. He lives with his wife, 7-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son. Artur is employed in the private sector and is the main breadwinner of the family. His salary, however, is not enough to fully cover the increasing needs of his family. Artur is also engaged in cattle breeding. He sells the agricultural products in the local market, which is a very important source of income for his family.

As the family’s needs are increasing with time, Artur wants to expand his agribusiness to be able to more effectively cover the daily expenses of his family. He needs a loan of USD 2500 to purchase two cows and four steers. He has already taken a loan from a local financial institution before, but unfortunately wasn't able to return it back. However, thanks to the hard work during the recent times, Artur was able to run his agribusiness in a sustainable way, ensuring that he will be able to cover the monthly payments. So, he has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products. Artur and his family will be thankful to all the lenders for helping them to maintain and develop their agribusiness.
