Nancy Mercedes's story

In the city of Tosagua the Amistad credit group meets every two weeks. This place is known for being very dynamic where most of its residents work in agriculture and in raising animals, because it has a lot of vegetation.

This is where Nancy lives. She is 52 years old and is in a common law marriage from which she has three grown children. Two of them still live in her house and go to college. Her husband is a driver.

Nancy learned cutting and sewing many years ago in an academy in her community. Today she has a small sewing workshop in her house. In addition to making new clothing she repairs her customers' clothing. When the school year is starting what she makes the most are uniforms. she has been doing this activity for more than 30 years and has been able to help her husband get their children ahead, offering them a good education so that they can make a better future.

This loan is to buy fabric, thread, zippers, buttons and more sewing materials. She has been in the credit group since the beginning and she likes it because of the help the group offers for getting ahead. Her dream is for her children to have good careers.
