Hormiguitas Obreras Group's story

The “HORMIGUITAS OBRERAS” communal bank is in its second cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Collpani center. It’s made up of eight members and directed by a board of directors where Lourdes serves as the president. The members’ businesses include bed sales, a neighborhood store, clothing sales, CD sales, cooking pot sales, shoe sales, blanket and camisole knitting, and sweat suit sales.

This loan will benefit their small businesses, including Lourdes’. She has been with Pro Mujer for a year and joined on the invitation of a promoter who visited her in her home. She sells shoes and says that she learned this business after acquiring a sewing machine. After she learned how to make shoes she set up her business.

This loan will allow her to increase her working capital and buy leather from the large suppliers in El Alto then make and sell her products in her stall. This type of work allows her to generate income to support her household. She is single and works to support her mother financially

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says that she likes the training in loans and health.
