La Paix Virunga Group's story

Kamwite, age 52, is a secretary for the business group La Paix Virunga. She is a dynamic and experienced entrepreneur, and the mother of eight children who all go to school. Her spouse is a merchant of various goods. Kamwite sells spices at the public market, and sometimes from her home. She started her business with the help of her husband, and she has been conducting this activity for 24 years. She will use this new loan to buy 40kg of spices. Her goals are to expand her activity and support her children’s education. So far, the spoilage of merchandise has hindered the development of her business.

Kamwite wishes to thank the Hekima MFI for helping businesswomen to become self-sufficient who cannot use the traditional banking system, especially in these critical times of war in the Eastern region.
