Enagnon 3 Group's story

The Enagnon 3 group is composed of four individuals who are friends and form a "tontine" [a community savings group] together. The group's representative, Flaure Mahoutin (the one raising her hand in the photo) is 38 years old. Flaure Mahoutin finished primary school. She is married to Desiré, a mechanic. They have three dependent children, some of whom are in school. Flaure Mahoutin lives with her husband and children. The spouses jointly provide for household needs. In order to do so, Flaure Mahoutin has been selling fabric for over 13 years. In addition, she also sells kitchen utensils. Flaure Mahoutin stocks up at a market in Benin. In order to strengthen her business, Flaure Mahoutin, jointly with the other members of the Enagnon 3 group, is applying for her sixth loan from ALIDé. Their prior loans have been duly repaid.
