A loan of $1,450 helped to improve his home.

Jose Fernando's story

Jose is a 42-year-old man. He lives in the city of Ica with his wife and two children. He is very hard-working and enthusiastic, and he dedicates all of his efforts to helping his family get ahead. Unfortunately, because of the lack of economic resources, and the need to work starting at a young age, Jose was not able to study for a professional degree. On his own initiative, Jose works in his small carpentry shop. He makes doors, tables, chairs and other items. Jose works every day for approximately 10 hours, and he believes it is going well for him because of his dedication and effort. Jose is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to the help provided to him, he will be able to carry out improvements to his home. He wants to reinforce the walls and lay a concrete floor in his home. In this way, Jose will keep working and exerting himself to achieve his great dream of having a secure and appropriate place for his family to live.
