A loan helped a member to pay for the construction of a septic tank latrine and a hand-washing device with soap.

Group 5 - Tân Việt 01's story

Ms. Yen, 34, works in agricultural production with a monthly income of about 720,000 VND. She is married with one small child. She has been a member of the Women's Union since 2000.

Ms. Yen is fully aware that an unhygienic latrine will contaminate the environment as well as adversely affect the health of her family members in particular and her community in general. Due to a lack of funds, her family currently does not have a septic tank latrine.

With a portion of this loan, Ms. Yen will build a septic tank latrine and a hand-washing device with soap to improve her family's living conditions, in addition to providing convenience, cleanliness and privacy for all family members while contributing to environmental protection.
